The site is designed to allow teachers and older school students to access a range of primary source materials to support the creation of local history projects at Key Stage 3 and for the Extended Project Qualification. Many of the resources are also applicable to the Historical Investigation which forms part of a number of A level syllabi. The focus is on North West England.

This site has been developed by Dr Sam Riches of the Regional Heritage Centre, Department of History, Lancaster University, with help from colleagues around the university. Financial support has been provided by Office for Fair Access funding.
