Map of the Battle of Preston

Dublin Core

Title

Map of the Battle of Preston

Subject

The Battle of Preston

Description

This map was drawn in 1818 and published in 1836, so over a century after the event it represents. However, it is closely based on an original map made by A. Boyer, dedicated to the victorious General Wills, which was published in 1716 and hence very soon after the Battle of Preston (9-14 November 1715). The hand colouring on the version of the map presented here is not original but adds to the legibility of the plan.
